Ozric Tentacles
Live Underslunky
The Story
Simon Eddie Baker writes in the liner notes, ""Live Underslunky" was originally released in 1992 at a time when the Ozrics were becoming increasingly successful, a band that the hacks at the popular music papers couldn't understand yet had to feature as their popularity grew with the record buying public. Onto the album then, a classic live release untainted by studio embellishments, the only surprise at the time was that more live albums hadn't been released. The band were much less reliant on sequenced tracks that form a large part of the modern set and as a result sound more organic and spontaneous. Other than the first live outing, the rather patchy "Live Ethereal Cereal", this album is the only official document of a time when jamming was still very much a part of the live performance. Check out the awesome 14+ minutes of "Ayurvedic" as an example!"
