Rolling influences such as Bach, Vivaldi, Paganini, Chopin with contemporary artists such as Michael Hedges, Al DiMeola, John McLaughlin and Yngwie Malmsteen, Serbian guitarist Aleksandar Rakich has recorded Lucida Intervalla, an instrumental CD-R of neo-classical tracks which display his colossal technique to great advantage. While tracks such as "Allegro Veloce", "Finale Brilliante" and several variations on themes by Vivaldi and Rimsky-Korsakov offer all of the classically inspired lines, intricate orchestrations and technically-demanding playing you might associate with neo-classical music, Rakich has also thoughtfully included songs such as "Yumbo", "Cool Fusion", "Space Driver" which are more a fusion of rock, jazz and subtle classical influences. Hopefully a fully realized, professionally released CD is the works for Rakich, so a much wider audience will be able to appreciate his talents. Born to a musician's family in the former Yugoslavia in 1977, Aleksandar began playing classical guitar in 1982. From 1988 to 1991 he achieved remarkable results in various guitar competitions all over Yugoslavia. At age 13, he became interested in the fusion of acoustic and electric guitar, and started his first band, Jetliner. Aleksandar recorded two albums with Jetliner, then formed a new band, Odiskona, which specialized in ethnic music of the Balkans. A later band Combo recorded an album entitled "CoolFusion" and toured Yugoslavia. After the war in 1999, Aleksandar opened his own recording studio and recorded his latest project.
Rakich shows a strong interest in neo-classical music, and is determined to take the style to a higher level, using his family tradition, experience and guitar technique.
