Richie Kotzen
Instrumental Collection: The Shrapnel Years
The Story
"Instrumental Collection: The Shrapnel Years" is Richie Kotzen's first compilation CD, which contains his best instrumental moments from his solo career. Kotzen was one of the leaders in the shredding scene of the '90's and has influenced some of the most talented players on the scene today. The name Richie Kotzen is synonymous with modern musical virtuosity. Kotzen possessed incredible technique, and combined elements of progressive, metal, blues, and jazz influences which resulted in an amazing, over the top style. In addition to his brilliant solo career, which began in his teens and spans 17 years (15 of which these selections were culled), Kotzen is also known for his collaborations with artists diverse as Poison, Mr. Big, Greg Howe ("Project", "Tilt") and Vertu, the latter featuring fusion giants Lenny White and Stanley Clarke.
