Scott Henderson studied arranging and composition at Florida Atlantic University and later studied at the Guitar Institute of Technology (G.I.T.) in Hollywood, California where he is presently an instructor. In 1991 he was named #1 Jazz Guitarist by Guitar World magazine, and in January 1992 he was voted best jazz guitarist in Guitar Player magazine's Annual Reader's Poll. Henderson was the original guitarist for the Chick Corea Elektric Band.
