Scott Henderson
Tore Down House
The Story
The second blues album for Mesa/Bluemoon Records pairs guitarist Scott Henderson with legendary vocalist Thelma Houston. "Tore Down House" was released in April of 1997, features familiar names such as Kirk Covington (drums), Dave Carpenter (bass) and Scott Kinsey (keyboards, production), and recieved four star reviews in Jazz Times, Guitar Player, Guitar, Guitar Shop, and L.A Jazz Scene Magazines. "Tore Down House" is rife with incredible blues chops and humorous lyrics. Some incendiary and imaginitive guitar solos demonstrate that if anyone is capable of taking the standard blues form to the next plateau it is Mr. Scott Henderson. For instrumental fans, Henderson thoughtfully included three all-instrumental tracks: "Dolemite", "Continuum" and "Harpoon".
