Strunz/Farah
Heat Of The Sun
The Story
In "Heat Of The Sun", we savor the harvest of fiftteen years of close, harmonious collaboration between two of the world's finest guitarists, Jorge Strunz from Costa Rica, and Ardeshir Farah from Iran. Improvisation is vital to the duo's music--each piece has a solo section where each player freely improvises, like a bird taking flight, capturing the spirit of the moment. They are in the vanguard of an innovative, international style of virtuoso playing that has been called "global guitar" or "latin guitar". On "Heat Of The Sun", the guitarra latina (played with the hand) and the guitarra morisca (played with a pick) meet again and come full circle.
