Pennsylvania guitarist Mike Phillips submitted his CD-R album of original rock music tunes with a pop twist, entitled 5 And 2. Consisting of nine songs written and produced by Phillips, tracks such as "Bad Luck Charm", "The Train" and "Yesterday & Tomorrow" feature rock guitar interwoven with folk guitar and other tones to create an inviting ambience. Phillips has played in a number of bands, and with all his experience, knows what he likes in an arrangement, delivers it, and hopes to take the audience along for the ride. A diehard fan of Gibson guitars and Marshall amps, Phillips has a lot more guitar tracks in him, and Philly guitar fans look forward to the next offering.
Mike was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and moved with his parents to West Chester, Pennsylvania in 1965, where he's lived ever since. After graduating from West Chester's Henderson High School, Mike attended Shippensburg University for his Bachelor's Degree, and Villanova University for his Master's Degree. Since then, he's worked for companies along the Route 202 corridor in the Philadelphia suburbs. Mike stays busy playing out in a cover band around the Philadelphia/New York/Baltimore area, as well as recording and promoting his original music. His music has been played on some of the big Philadelphia radio shows and has had some success with major label interest, but has not yet gotten the big deal we all dream about.
In the future, Phillips hopes to continue to do what he is doing, have fun, and be personally satisfied that he's created something he is proud of and that he likes listening to.
