Balancing intricate counterpoints and sophisticated harmonies, Canada's Rosette Guitar Duo (guitarists Kevin Marsh and Michael Lyngstad) create an air of calm with their soothing melodies. Their sound is an eclectic merging of classical, world, jazz, and popular song that is fresh in its approach and intent. Their CD Portage To Tunnel Mountain, features eight acoustic instrumentals, including the exquisite, three-part "Medeterranean Suite", which is handled with sensitivity, telepathic interplay and graceful musical finesse. The opening numbers, "Winter Lullaby" and the title track, set the stage for the music to follow - discreetly orchestrated arrangements that amply demonstrate Lyngstad and Marsh's abilities, and that will appeal to a wide range of acoustic guitar lovers. Henry Johnson was originally profiled in the February-March, 2004 edition of The Undiscovered.
