Primal Magic
The Story
"Primal Magic" features the amazing guitar duo of Costa Rican Jorge Strunz and Iranian Ardeshir Farah on ten flamenco/world tracks. The interplay between the guitars and the percussion instruments is brilliant, as songs like "Ida Y Vuelta" represent music transferred from Spain to America and back (and back again). "Huixamatli (Luna Llena)" is a mixture of rhythms from Aridamerica and Mesoamerica, while "Bola" is about an encounter in Los Angeles with the Gypsies. "Amazonas" is another standout track that features unique pre-Columbian winds and percussion set to tropical sounds depicting the rainforest. "Primal Magic" is a must for flamenco enthusiasts.
